Privacy Policy
Last Updated: April 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how UniPlay LTD ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the UniPlay desktop utility. We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Information We Collect
To provide UniPlay's core features, we collect::
- Account Information: Name and email address provided during the purchase process via our Merchant of Record.
- Unique Hardware Identifier (UUID): A non-reversible hash of your hardware components used to verify license authenticity and prevent unauthorized distribution.
- Steam ID (Public): Used to synchronize game library metadata and provide per-game performance profiles.
- Technical Analytics: RAM reclamation totals and session data
used to populate your Ledger. Free users see total RAM saved
only. Pro users see full per-game session history.
2. Lawful Basis for Processing
Under UK GDPR, we process your data based on the following legal grounds:
- Contractual Necessity: To provide the Pro features (Analytics, Ledger, Profiles) you have subscribed to.
- Legitimate Interests: To protect our intellectual property and ensure software
security via hardware-locked licensing.
3. Data Retention & Third Parties
We do not sell your data. We only share information with essential service providers:
- Lemon Squeezy, LLC: Our Merchant of Record handles all payment processing. UniPlay LTD does not store or see your credit card or billing details.
- Data Retention: Account data and hardware identifiers are retained for the duration of your active subscription. Upon cancellation or non-renewal, data is archived for 12 months to allow for seamless account reactivation before being permanently purged, unless legal obligations require longer retention.
- Security: Hardware IDs are strictly used to prevent license fraud and ensure your Pro license is locked to your machine.
4. Your Rights
As a UK resident, you have the following rights regarding your data:
- The right to access the personal data we hold about you.
- The right to rectification if your data is inaccurate.
- The right to erasure ("right to be forgotten") of your account and associated analytics.
- The right to restrict or object to certain processing activities.
5. Data Security
Your analytics data is processed locally on your machine before
being stored in your session ledger. We implement industry-standard
encryption to protect data in transit.
6. Contact & Controller
UniPlay LTD is the data controller for your information.
